Everything in life acts as a mirror to our minds, who we see ourselves as and how others perceive us is never distinguishable from our surroundings. It’s hard to know exactly where things begin and where things end when every moment shapes the next - it all connects. The masks are not just a reflection of an identity, but of all the roots that lie under the surface of an individual. When I draw these patterns I feel as though I'm writing a kind of story, a story of becoming, of lineage and ancestry, and every harmonious or chaotic circumstance that manifested into a life. It seems the closer you look, the less individual one becomes and the more everything connects into the strangely and complexly beautiful code of life.
